Predictable and Minimally Invasive techniques for instrument retrieval

Featuring the TFRK®

Instrument retrieval is considered more challenging than any other endodontic procedure, preventing the clinician from performing further treatment, and thus comprising the treatment outcome. Ultrasonic retrieval attempts, especially from the apical one third of a curved canal, often result in a significant amount of dentin sacrifice, and aggressive use can lead to perforation and secondary fracture because there is no standardized technique for successful instrument retrieval. Attendees will be taught predictable and minimally invasive techniques to retrieve a broken file using the TFRK® to minimize dentin sacrifice without causing iatrogenic events and maximize treatment success.

You will learn:

  • 1. Rationale for RetrievalWhen is it necessary to retrieve a broken file? When can we leave the file segment in place? It’s important to know the difference.
  • 2. File BreakologyThe study of how files come apart during their use. The easiest method of dealing with separated files is to avoid file failure.
  • 3. Analysis of Retrieval DifficultyAs we get better at understanding situational retrieval difficulties, we become more success in our retrieval efforts.
  • 4. Learn about the latest tools and advancements created to help clinicians remove broken files.
  • 5. TFRK® File Retrieval Technique--learn how to remove broken files with ease and predictability using the TFRK®.
